Sigh...so many dishes to do. That's what I get for cooking....lol. Tonight it was marinated steak wrapped in bacon with a side of herbed mashed potatoes. Since I have been opening I actually have the energy to cook.
Today was the first day of Rusty's vacation. So of course Cesar came in late then left for a doctor's appointment only to not come back for the day. He left with heat cases and customers with questions that not even his partner knew the answers to. I can just imagine what it was like after I left. It was one of those 'stupid people' days. Especially with the phone. A customer called asking for Phillip, who is on vacation, and when I informed them of this and gave them an option of talking to someone else they ummed for a minute then launched into their problem to me. Then one of Hector's customers called while he was out getting breakfast so I lied and said he was on a testdrive so the customer started asking me who's vehicle he was testdriving and if it could possibly be his. I ended up having to explain twice, the second time in much greater detail, that the advisors do not make it a habit of telling me the name of the customer who owns the vehicle they are driving. He was so dense I wanted to resort to the truth to get him off the phone.
I wanted to do absolutely nothing today. My own work is caught up for a change. There is filing and purging that needs to be done but I don't feel like being out in the heat right now. Cramps are bad enough without feeling like you are being cooked at the same time. Now if they got the air conditioning to work again in the storage room that would be helpful. The whole purpose of moving them back there was to get them out of the elements. Now it is pressure cooker back there with no air movement so how different is that from being in the shop? Granted they don't get covered in exhaust and break dust but it isn't like that makes much of a difference.
I've been rolling around ideas for a new tattoo. Getting lots of suggestions as to where to go, especially from other tattooed coworkers and customers.
